Mary (Gring) Riedy is a Chicago-based artist who combines performance, video, projection and sculpture to create immersive multimedia installations that investigate the radical, transformative nature of caring for one’s self and one another. Originally from South Bend, Indiana, Mary studied fine art and sociology at Saint Mary’s College before earning her MFA in Interdisciplinary Art and Media from Columbia College Chicago. Mary is a recipient of the 2020 Albert P. Weisman Award and has exhibited her work throughout the country. She currently works as a full-time visual arts teacher for PK-8th grade students. When she isn’t making or teaching art, Mary enjoys visiting museums, seeing live music, and napping with her cat.
